Netball

Registrations are now CLOSED.

Students from Years 2-6 currently enrolled at Belair Primary School are eligible to play school netball which is organised by the Southern Area Junior Netball Association (SAJNA). Our program focuses on participation, skill development, teamwork, fair play and building confidence while having fun.

This is a volunteer run club, and your help is greatly appreciated – and is a necessity for our continued success. Parent assistance will be required for coaching, team manager, time keeping and scoring. Please consider how you may be able to help in order to ensure a successful season for all players.

Season

Terms 2 and 3 

Age Requirements 

Students must be in Year 2 or above

Fees 

A season fee of $90 applies.

A non-refundable administration fee of $30 per child is payable once per calendar year at registration time.  This covers all sports played. If the student has paid this fee for another sport, it is not charged again.

Withdrawal of Registered Players:

Once teams are formed and registered with SAJNA, the team registration cost is payable by the school. If players withdraw after their team has been registered and the team can no longer be fielded, all players originally nominated to that team will be charged $30 to cover the team registration cost. The $90 participation fee will not be charged in this circumstance.

Game Information 

Games are played on a home and away basis, either on a Friday afternoon or Saturday morning, dependant your grade/team, as follows:

• Years 2 & 3 – Saturday mornings at 10:00am (Netta Rules)
• Years 4 – Saturday mornings at 9:00am
• Year 5 – Friday afternoon at 4:10pm OR Saturday mornings at 9:00am
• Year 6 – Friday afternoon at 4.10pm

** Please note that teams will only be formed/ registered with SAJNA provided there are adequate numbers and a volunteer coach for each team

Training Information:

Each team trains once per week at school from Week 1 of Term 2 to the end of the season in mid-August. 2026 dates are yet to be finalised.

Training days and times are determined by the individual Team Coach once teams are formed. These cannot be selected prior to team formation. If you would like input into the training day, please consider volunteering as a Team Coach.

Team Placement

Teams are formed by the Netball Coordinators based primarily on year level, registration numbers and coach availability.

We do not run trials or formal grading sessions.

Where possible, teams are formed within single year levels. However, depending on registration numbers, some teams may include mixed year levels to ensure all students have the opportunity to participate.

In some circumstances, previous experience may be considered when nominating teams into appropriate grades within the Southern Area Junior Netball Association competition.

Previous team combinations are considered where possible but cannot be guaranteed.
