Welcome to Belair Primary School. We have a proud history of providing excellence in teaching and learning for over 100 years.
Our school values of ‘Respect, Responsibility, Achievement and Creativity’ underpin our vision ‘We aim to develop inquiring, knowledgeable, caring young people, who achieve their personal best and actively help to create a sustainable and more peaceful world’. These core elements of the school epitomise our emphasis on students achieving their personal best within a learning environment, which is both supportive and engaging.
At Belair, every staff member is dedicated to the care and education of each student and shares the belief that happy students learn more effectively. Learning is a very personal journey, and at our school we create a safe learning environment where all students are supported to achieve their personal best.
We offer expertise in education from Reception to Year 6 and deliver the Australian Curriculum. We are an accredited International Baccalaureate World School and implement the curriculum using the Primary Years Program.
Along with this, we offer specialist subjects including physical education, Japanese and music. We are also a Music Focus School for our region.
A wide range of extra-curricula activities such as debating, School Sports SA (formally SAPSASA), Tournament of Minds, Festival Choir and after school languages – French and Mandarin are offered. These enable students to develop specific skills and talents and to experience individual success.
We have a sister school exchange program with Momoyama Elementary School in Kyoto Japan. This biennial exchange program involves visiting each other, attending school, living with school families and participating in cultural excursions. It is a highlight for many senior students at the school.
The partnership with parents is an important aspect of our school. Parents are welcome to volunteer throughout the school by, participating in excursions and camps, sports coaching, volunteering in the canteen, library or joining the Governing Council or Parent Association.
I look forward to the opportunity to share our school with you on a Principal tour. We have regular tours throughout the year and the dates are advertised on the website and newsletter. Simply call the school to book a tour and I look forward to meeting you.
Kind regards,
Rob Houston
Principal
